We realise
Regeneration is a daunting challenge. Examples of successful
regeneration and renewal projects all evolve with immense
determination, hard work and some happy accidents.
It is hoped we can help you improve your neighbourhood without
"reinventing the wheel", and take short cuts by design rather
than depending on helpful accidents.
To achieve this we have created the
Neighbours4U project team
backed by the expertise of Hope in the Community Ltd. and others
as appropriate, to assist residents and agencies in launching
and implementing Regeneration/Renewal projects. We have links
into many regional and national agencies, including REGENERATE,
a project of Housing Justice, a registered charity (no. 294666).
Throughout the country there are resident
leaders from the REGENERATE team who are fully committed to
their own projects and estates, but have kindly offered to show
other resident groups and professionals their projects. For such
visits to and from REGENERATE backed projects we are able to
seek grants to pay visitors’ travel costs.
We can
tap into shortlists of supportive and very experienced
professionals, some of whom have agreed to provide some initial
free advice. These
professionals include community lawyers; community architects;
funding and housing management consultants; drug and alcohol
abuse prevention advisors; family project coordinators; faith
leaders etc. They are solely responsible for their own advice.
At all times we will try to work with, and support Local
Authorities and all the statutory agencies to work as a team,
and are available on a consultancy basis to Local Authorities
and the statutory agencies.
This is currently a unique national service, delivered
regionally and providing so many aspects of Regeneration and
Renewal in an integrated and joined up way, with a strong
commitment to
Residents as the client and team leaders.
It is a service designed and delivered by Residents for
Residents, with back up from Professionals and Volunteers.
You are free to pick and choose all or parts of the Service.
